Walking drawbridge in Duluth, MN

No more blues! The Canal Park Slip Bridge (known locally as the “Blue Bridge”) that provides a shortcut between the Lake Avenue and Harbor Drive sides of Canal Park was temporarily closed for maintenance on March 5th and will re-open on May 3rd of this year — albeit with a new color. During this time, crews will sandblast the “Blue Bridge” to remove the structure’s familiar blue paint. When the bridge receives its new coat of paint, it may need a new nickname as well — the planned shade for the new coat is reportedly more of a teal color than the current cobalt blue.
