Summer’s starting to wind down, but there are still plenty of nice days on the horizon to get out and enjoy Canal Park this year. Looking for events and activities? Check out the following things to do in September in Canal Park.

 

Duluth’s Waterfront Tours – Daily:

All aboard the Vista Fleet! September and October are your last chances this year to get out on a Lake Superior boat tour. Sightseeing tours will run until September 5th for the Lake Superior Express Tour and the Queen Pizza Cruise. Charted tours for the Duluth’s Waterfront Tour and the Grand Sightseeing Tour will run through October 23rd.

Enjoy the bustling activity and sprawling vistas of the Duluth Harbor and Lake Superior. As the longest and only running harbor cruise company in Duluth, you’ll be in excellent hands on the water! All cruise are professionally narrated, offer comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and have concessions and a full cash bar on board each vessel. Reservations are not required but they are highly recommended to ensure your spot is saved.

 

 

Duluth-Superior Pride Festival – September 3rd:

Head on down to Bayfront Festival Park for the 11th annual Pride Festival. Entertainment and festivities includes 2 beer tents, an exciting group of exhibitors and vendors, family-friendly games and activities, and music throughout with entertainment wrapping up in the form of 3 incredible concert acts.

Lake Superior Harvest Festival – September 10th:

It’s food, it’s learning, it’s growing, it’s fun. It’s something for everyone, and it’s free. What more could you ask for?! Join the Lake Superior Chapter of the Sustainable Farming Association (SFA) as they celebrate 23 years of connecting producers and consumers. From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM the Harvest Festival will feature one of the best and largest  farmer’s markets in the region, along with crafts, live music, a nonprofit showcase, family activities, educational exhibits and more. Everything present at the festival will be locally focused, grown, and/or sourced! Admission and parking are free.

 

 

Duluth Hot Air Balloon Festival – September 16th-18th:

>The Color Run

>Kiwanis Kite Fly

>Craft Brew Village

This weekend-long event will be an explosion of color, featuring many events in one -all for free! Hot air balloon inflation, launches, and tethered rides will happen throughout all 3 days of the festival (weather contingent). These colorful balloons are something to behold as they float above the gorgeous Lake Superior harbor area.

The Kiwanis Family Kite Fly event will take place throughout the day on Saturday. Kites are free for kids courtesy of the Kiwanis Club. The Craft Brew Village will be open on both Friday and Saturday. It is designed to promote and further educate people on the fast growing local and national craft beer industry. The 5k Color Run and post event party will take place Sunday evening. Be sure to register for the run ahead of time and be prepared to turned into a living rainbow of vibrant colors.

Other activities include live music, vendors, weather balloon launching and more! The festival gates will be open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, and from 6:00 AM to Midnight on Sunday.

 

 

Siiviis Mug Event – September 24th:

Join Siiviis Art Gallery in downtown Canal Park for their first annual Fall Mug Event! Siiviis carries mugs from Potters all over Minnesota. The event will host current gallery artists, as well as exclusive guests for this event only. Head on down to explore the gallery and to find your perfect mug match for the upcoming chilly season.
